R -E- S -P- E -C -T

This week your child will be introduced to a brand new virtue which we will be studying this whole month - respect.  It is a virtue that is quickly becoming obscure.  Not many people talk about respect.  We are quickly becoming a group of people who do not recieve respect, nor give respect.

Take the wolf for example.  The alpha male and female rule over the entire pack.  The other wolves do not whine about showing respect to the alphas... they just do it.  Apparently, we are not as smart as the wolf.  We complain, whine, and sometimes ignore authority.  The opposite of respect is rebellion.  By human nature we are rebellious.  It was rebellion that separated us from God. It was because of our rebellion that God sent HIS son.

Our Bible story for this month comes from Romans 13:1-7.  I encourage you to read it this week.  Your child will learn it is important to show respect for authority.  The bottom line is this:  You respect God when you respect the people He's put in charge.  They will learn the difference in respecting vs. rebelling.  They will be learning that for every choice they make, there will be a consequence.  Those consequences may be good, or they may be bad.

Please join me this week in praying for your child!  See you Sunday!!!
